I have next pvr working great in kodi, i have the channel guide set up with the EPG from schedules direct.

But when I'm viewing the guide in Kodi and I select a channel, nothing happens. I hit enter on the keyboard and it doesn't do anything. I can move around the guide with the arrow keys, i just cant select anything to view the channel or record, etc.

In Kodi go to Settings -> TV -> Guide.

There's an option there called DEFAULT SELECT ACTION. If you want it to start the actual channel, select "Switch to channel." In theory it shouldn't be possible for that setting to be NULL, but maybe there was a glitch writing your settings file. So you might try changing it to a different option, exiting the settings, and then going back.

yea i had that set to bring up the information menu, instead of going directly to the station. but it does nothing when i hit enter. I will try a different setting.

i switched it to show context menu, and it works. its just the "show information" setting that isnt working, but thats no big deal.

but now i have a new issue, not sure if this is the place for this to be discussed, but i have a harmony one remote. after using it for a few min, it'll just start sending a random number over and over and over, like someone is sitting on the keyboard or something. its always a number, and when it happens it just blocks all other inputs from being sent and i have to restart my computer. any ideas?

The Harmony One uses IR right? There might be some kind of problem with whatever USB IR reciever you are using on your HTPC. I had a problem where the enter key would get "pressed" multiple times. I tried a bunch of different settings with no luck. I finally replaced the cheap WMC IR reciever with a FLIRC reciever and my problems went away. It took a little bit to get my Harmony 650 reprogrammed to work well with the FLIRC and Kodi, but now it's rock solid.

ok, thank you very much! you like the FLIRC? I've thought about it for awhile, but never bought one since the IR receiver was working fine, until now. Is the software to set it up pretty intuitive?

I do like the FLIRC. There is a FLIRC mapping in the Harmony database for Kodi that is about 90% right. Using that there was no other setup to do. For the commands that weren't working right I just added a device (a Sony DVD player) I don't own to my Harmony and then mapped some of those IR commands to keyboard commands on the FLIRC. The nice thing about the FLIRC is that it emulates a keyboard, so once you use their software to setup the IR to keyboard mappings, there is no software to run on the machine. You can actually move the FLIRC from one machine to another and it just works.

awesome, thank you. I love that it just emulates keyboard commands, that's all the commands i need. just ordered on.
