I'm trying to setup NextPVR but cannot get the channel to change.

I'm running Windows 10 (64) and using a Hauppauge 1800 capture card and have a Motorola set top box.

I have mapped some channels through Schedules Direct and I do have guide info.

I found a utility called uutx.exe that works from the command line to change the channel on the STB.

Under Settings - Devices I select the Hauppauge card and then Device Setup.

In the Executable box I enter the path to uutx.exe and in the Arguments box I enter the same arguments that I use successfully from a command prompt.

When I select a channel no attempt is made to change the channel in the STB.

So, from the command line it works but not from NPVR. What can I try?

Anyone with any STB that uses the Executable/Arguments I would appreciate seeing what you use for those entries.

Thanks

John

A copy of the blaster settings are stored within each channel, since you might have different rules from each channel.

Since you created your channels before setting the blaster executable/params, they wouldn't have included these new blaster settings. Easy fix though. Highlight all the channels, right click and select 'update to current config'. You'll then see the channels get updated, and will see the blaster listed next to each.

Where are you highlighting the channels?

I tried in Settings --> Devices --> Device Setup as well as in Settings --> Channels and I see no right click menu for "update to current config".

I added a few channels after I set the changer parameters, still no good.

Also ... the channel change executable runs in the context of the NextPVR Recording Service. The executable is running under the System user account and the folder that is active when the executable runs might not be appropriate.

Ah sorry - I was thinking of the instructions for HDPVR style devices.

From memory, with analog you can just set the executable etc at the top of the screen. With them set, can you reproduce the problem, and post the logs, so we can confirm it's running your executable?

I guess you're using the analog out of the STB to the tuner. If so, in Settings>Devices select the analog tuner and then Setup Device. You should see a box to channel changer executable and a box for the arguments of the executable. I'm not sure of the format for the arguments, I think NPVR defaults to something like {channel number}.

What Sub said.
