here's an example:
in the tvguide, it shows "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" as new....
but i can find no reason it should think so..no new tag...
Code:
<programme start="20160613130000 -0500" stop="20160613160000 -0500" channel="I660.58623.schedulesdirect.org" clumpidx="0/1">
    <title>The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe</title>
     <sub-title></sub-title>
      <desc>(2005) During the World War II bombings of London, four English siblings are sent to a country house where they will be safe. One day Lucy (Georgie Henley) finds a wardrobe that transports her to a magical world called Narnia. After coming back, she soon returns to Narnia with her brothers, Peter (William Moseley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and her sister, Susan (Anna Popplewell). There they join the magical lion, Aslan (Liam Neeson), in the fight against the evil White Witch, Jadis (Tilda Swinton).

As mentioned, with xmltv it's assumed all shows are new, unless it has <previously-shown> set, or has "®" at the end of the title. This show entry doesn't explicitly say it's previously shown, so it's assumed to be new.

but any way we could get a switch to treat xmltv from sd like sd native and just use the <new /> tags? [ignoring previously shown, treating it like naitive]

something like <usenewtagsforxmltv>true</usenewtagsforxmltv> to only mark new those with a new tag in data...
would fix it for users of zap2xml also...Smile
[i'm just downloading sd data w mc2xml so i can alter it before import]

'previously-shown' was the standard tag in xmltv for this info in the past. Unfortunately your particular grabber doesn't seem to be including this info.

I guess I could add some logic that goes something like:

use existing logic, unless xmltv file specifies source-info-name="Schedules Direct" generator-info-name="mc2xml", then assume shows are repeats unless they contain the <new> tag

that would be great for me, but zap2xml uses <tv source-info-url="http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/" source-info-name="zap2it.com" generator-info-name="zap2xml" generator-info-url="zap2xml@gmail.com">
and their data also includes correct <new /> tags...

Ok, this change is made for the next build. I've checked it with your previously supplied xmltv file.
