Channels blacked out or frozen

Using Win 10 Insider edition 14379, but same problems on earlier ver. Hauppauge DCR-2650, HomeRun installed, major networks OK
I am unable to receive ESPN2HD, black screen. The HomeRun View shows pix but locked up. Using lav decoders (d/l saf) + ScheduleDirect . Assume this is a decoder problem, need help!!!!

Check the tuner status screen on the DCR-2650 web page to see how the DRM/CCI Flags are set. Make sure that it is "Copy Freely." Also, are you trying to watch live or record? Try recording and see if the file grows. And then maybe try playing with other things like VLC. Also check the format (maybe H.264 vs. MPEG2).

Yeah, it's almost certainly due to DRM being tunring on on that channel.

More info', trying to watch and record live tv.More than 1/2 stations have problems. Recorded and tried playback 3 players,all black (file does grow). On Hauppauge web page unable to find any flag info', Any help???

I have almost deceided this is Cox's problem. They went all digital in June, reinstalled image from May where everything worked. Same problems. Major networks come fine, only high channel is Syfy. Anything I should ask or tell Cox?

I know I had problems with the LAV video decoder, I switched to an old CyberLink decoder and have not had problem since. PM me if you'd like and I can share what I've learned.

When I upgraded to Win10, I had similar issues. I updated my K-Lite Codecs (the full version) and now it works much better.
