I have completed steps 1-5, 7 and 8 above for updating EPG using zap2it and XMLTV. However, testing with steps 9 and 10 fails when trying to updateEPG via command line or the NextPVR GUI. Both methods appear to work, The XML file is created in the scripts directory, but nothing has been updated in the guide. Do you have any suggestions of what to try next? The EPG.xml file and the latest NPRV log is attached.

Windows 10
Nextpvr 3.6.6

Thanks

Skipped step 6? The one oddity is that zap2xml.exe needs hooks into Perl's TimeDate function to be able to parse the raw dataset, so you'll want/need to install ActivePerl to get this working. Go back and install ActivePerl as described in step 6. Note: I believe you'll need to re-boot your PC for Perl to fully integrate.

Norton Antivirus stops installation of the zap2it-install.exe file and labels it as a trojan. I'm not inclined to override until I hear from other users.

After step 5 I get this error message:

Code:
Can't locate C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\par-526f6e205a6f7363616b\cache-09eb65e53cd981209ea740203112c0f5caf4f6f1\inc\lib/auto/POSIX/autosplit.ix in @INC (@INC contains: CODE(0x30bfda4) C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\par-526f6e205a6f7363616b\cache-09eb65e53cd981209ea740203112c0f5caf4f6f1\inc\lib C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\par-526f6e205a6f7363616b\cache-09eb65e53cd981209ea740203112c0f5caf4f6f1\inc CODE(0x2db2994) CODE(0x2db2c94)) at AutoLoader.pm line 169.

See homepage for tips on installing missing modules (example: "perl -MCPAN -e shell")
Use "ppm install" on windows

I use my real name for USERNAME, Active Perl is installed, and I rebooted.

Windows 10 Home 1511 build 10586.494 64bit

Also, what do you mean by this line in step 6: "Now delete the folder proceeding C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\par-47656f726765"?
Intel Core i7-4790 / 32GB RAM / Windows 10 Pro 64 bit / HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO Model: HDHR5-2US

Appears to be a problem with ActivePerl. NextPVR is a 32-bit application, so you should install the x86 (32-bit) version of ActivePerl.

More detailed instructions for Step 6;
  1. open a CMD window (Windows Start Button, then in the "Search programs and Files" box, type "CMD"
  2. In the new CMD window, type:
    [LIST=2]
  3. "CD %temp%
  4. "DIR"
[/LIST]
Q. Do you see a SubDir beginning with "par"?

I needed to manually install the "TimeDate" module for ActivePerl. In a CMD window, at the "c:\Windows\System32>" subdirectory, type:

ppm install TimeDate

This will download and install the TimeDate module from ActiveState.

Note: Perl is case sensitive, so be careful of capitalization.

I have been using zap2xml for over 1 year now. About 10 days ago I started getting this error after a few minutes of processing:

[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND][ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Can't gunzip content: unexpected end of file at HTTP/Message.pm line 305.

Is upgraded to the most recent version zap2xml. This didn't make a difference. Is it just me or is anyone else suddenly having issues?

I had errors trying to get more than 1 days worth of EPG from zap2it.com. TVGuide.com seems to work better and lets me grab 14 days worth.

I suggest that you contact the author of zap2xml about your problem. Both zap2it and TVGuide will go and make major/minor changes to their EPG Guide (in HTML). Usually about once a year and often enough before the new Fall TV season starts in mid to late Sept (in US). Looks like it is once again time to play whack a mole. This is why I changed to Schedule Direct (from TVGuide) and never looked back.

Thanks for this, works well.

My question now is this: I've got Task Scheduler in Windows set to run the UpdateEPG.bat file once per week. Now, how to get NextPVR to update the EPG from that file automatically each week?
