How to watch these encrypted movie channels?

I really dont know anything about antenna tv except for hooking it up and scanning and stuff but what i do know about these channels is that they might be in h.264 (thanks to wikipedia for helping me with that) im not sure because i saw somewhere else in the forums how to switch a channel to h.264 but there are these encrypted channels and apparently you need something called an airbx and i was woundering if i can use these channels for free on nextpvr instead of having to buy an airbox.

EDIT: forgot to mention that i tried putting the channels on h.264 and it didn't work

68.11: Starz
68.12: Stz Enc
68.13: Stz Com
68.14: StzKids
68.15: SHO
68:16: MovieCh
68.17: SHO2
68.18: Flix
68.21: Airbox
(i dont know why it skipped 68.19-68.20)
68.22: Epix E
68.23: Epix W

NextPVR does not have DRM or what you are calling "encrypted" channels. DRM licensing is verrry expensive. This software will only play "copy freely" channels. ie: none of the subscription movie channel that you have listed.

About all you can do for watching/recording encrypted channels is use their set top box with a HD capture device like the HDPVR2 or Rocket (and an HDMI splitter that removes the HDCP content protection).

well i never knew this but nextpvr records what you watch in ts files in your temp folder and i was able to find files of airbox and starz and all that and im able to hear audio from the channels! i just cant get video

Usually they'd encrypt the audio too. If you want to supply a sample one of those file, I'm happy to look if it's really encrypted or not.

It may be that the video decoder that you have selected is unable to play the files. My stock advice regarding decoders ... SAF is an installer that will install decoders that should work in all locations for all files. These are channels from an OTA pay TV service called AirBox (funny how things come full-circle... before cable tv service became widely available, people used to get premium channels like HBO via scrambled OTA signal). They've had test channels running here in So. Cal. for years, but the service remains unavailable here. It's tough to imagine that they would have those channels running without encryption; they are h.264 which no TV knows how to display, but surely they wouldn't just depend on "security through obscurity". Awhile back I sent sub a full-ts chunk from the airbox channel here, and he confirmed they were all encrypted.

It is weird though that you get audio... normally they encrypt the entire program stream. Who knows, maybe they do have them unencrypted in your area for testing or some such.

yes, that's what I meant :p
(though 4k OTA & ATSC 3.0 is allegedly just around the corner here, which means US TV technology may leapfrog the rest of the world a bit)
