Missing recordings and Partial EPG update

I notice a few here that are having the same issue as me.
In that the nightly EPG is not able to refresh the epg completely after it does a rescan.
It then goes and deletes scheduled programs I assume because it believes that they are no longer valid.

Here is the EPG for Next Monday about 8am created at 2:30 this morning

Here you can see a scheduled recording for he Late Show. Which is not expecting any episodes for the next seven days.

Then i run a manual epg update

Here is the epg for the same day ..ie Next Monday about 8am

As you can see it has now found all the information.

When i now look at the scheduled recordings for the Tonight show you can see that there are a few

There is at least one other post complaining about the same issue with a failed suggestion to increase the time scan time value

It apears to be a bug and i suspect affecting more people than myself. As it only seems to occur for certain channels each night my issue can't be an isolated case.

Can some one assist me with this ?

I'd just replied to your other post, but I'll put it here again:

Broadcast EPG is a complicated beast, with slight differences in most countries. Did you try the advice above about increasing EPGScanSeconds, and turning off 'update epg during live tv'?

If these steps aren't helping, I can help you guys work through it, but it's gonna be complicated...I'd need a copy of your npvr.db3, and I'd need you to use TSCapture (eval version) to capture a 1 minute full transport stream from each frequency you have channels, so I can try replicating it here.

Looking at your log, your channels are on six separate frequencies, so it'd mean capturing 6 x 1 minute full transport streams.

No.. I'll need to know where the file is that needs to be modified i've not palyed with any of the Nextprv settings since installing it.
I'll try that first and we can work from there. The other user however said that he had already tried that. Another odd thing is that i had the version before this one and did not experience this drop out.

Ok...i'm happy to do go with the capture but will try the first fix. Just need to know where to make these config changes.

ok scan time increase to 360 and checkbox is unticked. we'll haveto wait until to morrow to see if it works.
I'll do a full manual scan to fill the guide up again and then check it tomorrow to see if data is missing

The 'update DVB EPG during live tv' tickbox can be found in the Settings->Misc screen.

That EPGScanSeconds can be tweaked in the C:\users\public\npvr\config.xml. Close NextPVR before editing that file.

Ok. although nothing is scheduled to run overnight until tomorrow i checked the NextPRV schedule. It appears to have worked correctly. Tomorrow will be more of a test as there are 3 items scheduled to record early in the morning. I'm also hoping the fix is permanent as the other user only experienced a fix in the short term.

ok it's been a week and the recordings and the EGP are working correctly.
I'd like to close this one .

Can it be marked as resolved for future reference ?
