Audio drop outs

Hi,

Im in ATSC land using Next PVR for OTA

Im getting audio dropouts on certain channels. with my TV tuner (the one inside my HDTV) the audio comes thru fine. Signal strength is also fine.
These are very momentary sub 1 sec drops in audio, but still annoying. Ive tried switching the AC3 codec from LAV to MS, but makes no difference. Not sure how to pin point the cause. Also check the audio our of my PC in case a connector issue, but these drop outs are heard from the PC audio jack.

Any ideas?

Im getting audio dropouts on certain channels.

Is this happening in live TV or in recordings or both? The most likely cause is glitches in the broadcast stream received by the tuner. It is widely reported that the tuners in PC devices are less sensitive than the tuners in TVs and are more susceptible to glitches in the broadcast stream. Are you able to temporarily operate with a minimum of antenna coax cable and without splitters in the coax to see if it makes a difference?

This does sound like a signal quality issue. Did your tuner come with software that shows Signal Strength, Signal Quality, and Symbol Quality for a desired channel? If it did, then run that software, and monitor the station(s) that you are experiencing the audio drop out on.
