Yeah, we're ok. It was a pretty big quake (about midnight). Biggest I've ever felt, and scary. Usually quakes are quick and you don't really get a chance to assess your options, and the quake ends with you in the same spot as you were when it started. This one went for like two minutes, so we had we had time to get up, collect the kids, and get under door ways, before changing our mind and heading outside.

We're on a hill, with a view of the city, and during the quake I saw dozens of huge green flashes in different parts of the city, like explosions. I initially though it was transformers exploding, but I'm now thinking it was power lines arcing as the wires swung.

Wow! Glad you're OK. Not much news here about the status. The green flashes were almost certainly power lines arcing as the wires swing. Now, why didn't the three wires swing in phase?
