Should I be able to get f2 to open the guide by chaning keymappings.xml as below:

<Subsystem name="TVGuide">
<Key code="F2" command="SelectGroup"/>
</Subsystem>
</Mapping>

?

Also there is a which sends "launch_mail" app command can this be used for something in keymappings.xml ?

F1 through F8 have special functions, used for starting screens from the menu. You can change the screen these start, but you can't repurose these keys for features like you show above. F2 is start live tv.

You could use some other key combo for it, but not these F keys.

That didn't seem to work and this button which sends f2 still starts live tv.

Searching the forums though I think it is config.xml I need to be looking at

I added the <DefaultLiveTV> will this have the desired effect? I cant test atm.

Actually, having checked the code, you cant override the F2 behaviour - it's always live tv. Thie others can be changed with those settings.

Ah right, I have got the buttons to do what I want using auto hot key thankfully.

That irss / translator mentioned in the wiki looks good though, from what I can gather I could use it to enable use of our sky stb remote to control nextpvr for the ultimate waf.

I have given up on kodi addon on the main tv for now, too glitchy but a lot better than a year ago. The Nextpvr interface is just so much simpler and easier yet still has all that is required.

Since remote keys to FN keys are arbitrary I have to ask what the big problem with the guide being on F1 and need to be on F2 requiring then elaborate ahk solution.

What I am saying is most don't I am surprised it even has F2 I'd look to see where the key that comes in as F2 is mapped in the first place.
