pc won't wake from sleep to record

Hi folks,

I've had a tough time getting npvr moved over to a different system. The record service is running and the npvr client interface works fine for watching, recording etc... but the pc just won't wake up from sleep to record. Can somebody point me to a primer on how that is supposed to work (does npvr schedule events in windows task scheduler? I dont' see any..., something else) or give me some suggestions on what to check for cause?

Any chance copying my \users\public\NPVR directory from the old system to the new system could cause an issue with recordings not waking the box up?

Windows 10 32bit system... freshly "reinstalled" from the Windows 10 recovery screens, hdhomerun drivers reinstalled and then fresh install of latest npvr... then copied over the users public npvr directory over the top.

NextPVR doesn't use the Windows Scheduler. When NextPVR's Recording Service starts (or whenever you schedule/cancel a recording), it loads the list of the upcoming recordings, and calls a Windows API to ask Windows to be awake at the requested time. It's then up to Windows to make sure it's awake at those specific times.

The wake up requests are only valid while NextPVR's recording service is running. If you stop the recording service, Windows will forget about those wakeup requests.

Make sure you're only putting the machine into standby, not actually shutting down, because Windows cant wake a machine that is fully shut down.

Some people have had problems with ACPI features in on their motherboard which has stopped Windows from being able to wake from standby.

Think I found it... read some posts elsewhere about wake timers, acpi, etc. and found some info about needing to possibly enable some additional ACPI options in the system bios.

Found two items in my bios under ACPI that were defaulted to "DISABLE":
RTC Alarm Power On
HPET Table

I enabled both of those and now the box seems to be waking per the npvr wake timers as expected.
