Folder monitoring or import recordings?

Hi

I am converting from Windows MCE to Kodi with NextPVR. I have a load of MCE TV recordings (.wtv files) that I want to be able to display as recorded TV in NextPVR (ie like I have been using it all the time ). I haven't managed to work out a clear answer for this so my questions are:

1. Am I able to import other recordings into NextPVR?
2. Is this an actual import process or is it by folder monitoring? If it is an import, what do I need to do?
3. Do I need to convert from .wtv format to enable import/folder monitoring? If so, what format(s) can I use?
4. Is there a way to keep the metadata from the original recordings?

Here are some points

- importing is a process
- pvr.nextpvr in Kodi won't play imported wtv files they would need to be converted into mpeg-ts format
