Like I be watching a channel and then go and make a cup of T so I would pause the channel where it is then once I have made it I would sit down and press play and it would play from where I left it,right, now i want to rewind it back 10 second and it would do it most of the time but sometimes it would just stop the playback and nothing, you press forward 10 sec and nothing too,so I would press stop and nothing, the live tv is still there like it on pause,so now to get off it I would have to start Kodi again,I am using Kodi 16.1 Jarvis..??

Unfortunately, this problem still exists in the current version of Kodi, 17.1. What is more, it happens with other backends too, I have seen it with DVBLink and Argus TV. Up to now, the only respons I got from the Kodi team was that it probably is a problem with the backend. Go figure.

I've always had this issue with NextPVR as well. It only seems to happen when I pause for a while. It seems like it freezes for me a few minutes after I resume playback. I assume it has something to do with Kodi, as Bart has stated. Maybe when the TV Stream catches up with itself and it has to switch to a new file. That's my guess. Kodi is trying to switch to the next TV Stream file on my HDD and it freezes. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and completely crash Kodi.

There is a known bug in NextPVR handling of timeshifted LiveTV in Kodi the requres a recording service restart but unfortunately users continue to simply report the problem without sending logs from Kodi and NextPVR the help diagnose the cause.

I have no idea where to send logs, but would be happy to give them to someone that can do something with them.

There is a button at NextPVR Settings --> About that will create a zip file containing NextPVR logs. The zip file can be attached to a post in this forum that describes the time of the problem so that we know where to look in the logs. The Kodi logs are described in the Kodi wiki.

I suppose I didn't think about creating my own post. Smile It is quite funny that I never did, as this Kodi+NextPVR issue is the only reason I haven't been able to "cut the cord" with the cable company. Without the ability to pause and resume without worrying about Kodi crashing is something my wife would never put up with! Smile

Edit: For those interested, the post I made is here: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...-timeshift
