Hi. I think I must have forgotten something as I have not done this for a while. recently a local tv atsc tv station added channel 7.4 Grit tv which I picked up on a rescan. However the DVB/ATSC epg details for this channel dont display. However I can see it on my normal tv so it is there....

after following up with zap2xml I got them to add it to their database and their web pages shows the tv programs ok for 7.4. so I thought I would switch from dvb/atsc to xmltv and renewed the xmltv file, updated the epg details and ... still says no program details.

whats up with this? what am I not doing right?

The only odd thing here is that 29.3 used to be grit tv and it moved to 7.4 while a new channel appeared on 29.3 charge tv. I had some problems here as 29.3 would not show correct content either via xmltv until I changed the name of the channel on 29.3 in the details.. but now it is ok.

Is this related somehow?

If you go to the Settings->Channels screen, and double click your 7.4 channel, is the EPG Source set to XMLTV with 'Grit TV' selected as the channel? If yes you've done that, does your xmltv actually contain listings for this channel? If you want to post your xmltv file, I'll check the listings.

i'd be happy with the DVB/ATSC listings I see for today on my other tv's just not nextpvr for some reason. (if I cant get xml to work for this channel)

yes I am familiar with the channels details. the source there is xmltv and I see the same file name as the rest of the channels. I saw the channel entry in the xmltv.xml file but why would it be blank if I can see the channel and shows for today listed at http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlistings/...tvschedule .. or is there a step they forgot todo?

Honestly, it's not worth bothering with the DVB/ATSC EPG in North America. Either use the xmltv or Schedules Direct.

Did you hit the 'update epg' button to pull in the listings from your file?

I can't see a channel called Grit TV in your xmltv file. Is it "7.4 WKBWDT4"?

yes thats the virtual channel and call sign for it. while studying the same file I discovered there is no data for this channel before 11 pm Tuesday July 18. So if i scroll the epg over to end of day tuesday I do see programs commencing then.

So I guess it remains to be seen if Tuesday remains visible as we get closer or does it shift over for every elapsed day. Funny how there is no data for now though. Thanks for replying Sub .. however in view of this find this can wait until Tuesday/Wednesday to see what happens on that overnight update.

Ok, great.

I suspect zap2xml is caching listings locally, so not downloading for that range that has the gap for this channel (since it has already downloaded that date range, but before that channel was included in the lineup).
