I think others have had this issue, but I've not found a resolution.

The problem is, for some stations I can't directly go to a sub-channel. For example (using Kodi frontend):

1. Go to channel list and select 17-2
2. Get spinner and eventually "Tuner Not Available"
3. Go to channel list and select 17-1 - it comes in immediately
4. Channel-up to 17-2 and it comes in immediately

I'm using an HD-Homerun tuner.

Logs attached.
Thanks.

Can you view these channels directly in NextPVR's UI?

I checked the logs, but I'm not sure you captured the right activities in the kodi.log. It looks like you watched a recording in that kodi.log. You might need to retry and repost the logs. (the NextPVR logs look like the 17.2 was being streamed correctly, do focusing on the Kodi side of things for now)

I tried with the NPVR front end. First, I should note that the NPVR front end does not work for me. When I try to watch a channel, the video comes on for a second then goes black. The audio continues to play. But, here's what happens when I try:

1. Tune 17-2. Black screen, no audio. Continues until I hit ESC.
2. Tune 17-1. Video and audio come on. (Video disappears after a second - like normal).
3. Channel up to 17-2. Video and audio come on. (Video disappears after a second - like normal).

So, it's basically the same thing as with Kodi. I have to first tune into the main channel before I can get the sub channels.
FWIW, I can directly tune the sub-channels in the HD Homerun app.

Thanks.

For your HDHR do you have BDA compatibility mode set to Default or MediaPortal? Using NextPVR causes problems sometimes with sub channels.

Martin,

It was set to "NextPVR". I tried "Default" but that didn't work. Then tried "MediaPortal" and that seems to have fixed the problem. Weird that "NextPVR" mode doesn't work with NextPVR.

Thanks for your help.

Are you using the current 4.0.4 release of NextPVR?

Ok - just stick with that mediaportal option for now then. We had informed SiliconDust about this problem with their NextPVR setting, but they haven't changed it.
