I got my Realtek tuners working with NextPVR last week on Windows 10. Its possible that the Windows 8 disk I was testing with had the SDR drivers installed previously which kills TV.

I did clean install of Windows 10 then unplugged the network while I installed the R820T drivers and it worked with NextPVR. The article gives info on how to stop Windows updating drivers when the network is connected again. However the article infers that the latest version of Windows 10 does not overwrite the drivers.
