The system has 4 turners, there's only 1 show on in that time slot (10pm), on 2 channels, wanting to record both using the All Episodes, All Channels setting (have it as such), all this seems to do is pick the first one in that hour and record it only, sadly, that caused the show to be lost due to a bad signal interruption, the other station probably was stable, but I wouldn't know, it never tried to record it.

You probably want to uncheck the "Avoid duplicate recordings where possible" option.

I'll check that setting, not 100% sure if it was set, though with the "New" flag on all the shows (new and old), it's very difficult to tell if it's actually reading the information from the EPG over OTA properly.

I will stick with my previous recommendation to you https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post496011 about the OTA guide. I doubt the new flag or unique ID are working with OTA data.

I'm not sure if all channels all episodes records two shows at the same time. You need to upload your logs.

Well, it *is* recording shows, with that "Avoid duplicate recordings where possible" off, but sadly, the new "title like" is not working:

CBS had (without the quotes) "Marvel's Inhuman's (Season Premier)" and like title 'Marvel_s Inhuman_s (Season Premier)', which failed to see the CTV one that was "Marvel's Inhumans" (the right title) like title 'Marvel_s Inhumans'. So I deleted the recording for the CBS and tried the CTV one, to see if the like title would catch the CBS one, it did not. One thing I did with my spam filter code, any punctuations (',.!? etc) were skipped right past in all searches, not sure why you're using _ in place of them, as it looks like the _ is a required character, thus "Marvels Inhumans" will fail to match if that _ is requiring a character.

EDIT: Pending recordings, I'm getting some that are not anything I want, and have *no* clue why they're recording in the first place, any chance of placing in that entry, what recording match happened to list it? Getting strange kid's shows that, well, are of absolutely no interest and I have no idea why they're recording (and I'd rather not start deleting show entries to find out what is causing it).

It actually recorded the same show twice in the same hour (a few times actually), since that last The Orville that went south, they've all been fine since, and I'm getting multiples, which I don't mind, was using them to yank the commercials out (sadly the software I use doesn't accept NPVR's EDL, lists it though but I get no video from it, no clue what it's wanting for a format). Then I export it out to a device for portable watching, do that when I know I'm going to be stuck on a train/plane, etc, where data streaming is going to be next to impossible and the "entertainment" is typically (you know).

As for the Schedules Direct, I already have a zap2it account, apparently there's an xmltv option, just haven't needed to use it, since it's only 6 hours long each time, would mean more refreshes, but they probably are shorter than 30 mins with ATSC. Been using zap2it's listings for years (with the Panasonic DVR which had no guide programming), to schedule shows manually. That and the search ahead to find the next episode on new shows starting is very useful.

NextPVR has to assume each show is unique, unless the guide explicitly tells it that it is the same show (via season/episode numbers, or unique show identifiers). You don't get this info with the OTA EPG, so it can't know if one airing of a show is the same as another. You do get this info if you use the built in Schedules Direct support. I'm not sure xmltv from zap2it provides this information or not.

Well, I know there is a thread on that here, as I've looked through it, so I can't see people using it if it isn't supporting the episode entries, I do recall there was an option to add "*" to entries with new episode information, again, not gone that way yet. Just trying to figure out the best way to work with the "title like", I can't seem to edit it on the machine with the remote, can't seem to edit anything with the remote, possibly the buttons needed, I don't have mapped.

There was a utility that someone made to add this to new shows - but that can only work if the EPG source can identify new shows.

Did they literally include (Season Premier) in the title? That's pretty crappy. Honestly, your life would be so much easier if you switched to Schedules Direct. That's the EPG source used by nearly everyone in that part of the world.

Yes the EPG I was looking at has the "new" flag in it, so perhaps I should look into giving that a try, it's a perl script (no big deal have had perl on all my PCs for years). And yes, CBS no less adds (Season Premier) and (Season Finale) to all their shows, fun isn't it... They're the only one that does that foolishness and even worse, they put in Marvel's Inhuman's (Season Premier) like the Season Premier was something special.
