NextPVR stores all of its data and settings in two files ... config.xml and npvr.db3 .. at Users\Public\NPVR

Install NextPVR on the new computer and then stop the NextPVR Recording Service and then replace the new config.xml and npvr.db3 with the files from the old machine

But ... but ... but

The folder location and filename of the recording files is stored in the database ... NextPVR will delete the database records if it can't find the recording files at the expected location ... Ensure that the recording files are at the exact same location on the new machine as they were on the old machine.

There is a config.xml setting to control the auto delete ... AutoRemoveMissingRecordings ... see also NoRemoveWhenTreeMissing which will prevent the auto delete if the entire folder tree is missing ... I use a NAS and NoRemoveWhenTreeMissing prevents NextPVR from deleting recordings when the NAS is switched off.

See also Import/Export Recordings ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ding#toc13 that allow you to create a file of recordings and, perhaps, edit the file if you need to change the folder location of recording files.

I don't know how to get the Microsoft decoders ... The LAV decoders work for many and they are free and at ... https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases

My personal experience suggests that you should untick when asked and not install the LAV splitter.

Thanks for that graham I have installed lav decoders and it seems too have solved the problem

Oops i did not untick that lav splitter tho what does it do

I'm also having a problem connecting to Kodi again it's probably the same issue as last time that the web server is broadcasting on the wrong IP address any ideas ?

The splitter splits the video and audio in the file and passes the streams to the appropriate decoder. If your playback is okay then just carry on ... the untick suggestion was probably a red herring and can be ignored

If the Kodi problem persists ... post again in the Kodi sub-forum ... I can't even spell Kodi and will be no help at all.

It isn't a question of the server broadcast on the "wrong" IP. If you aren't using a static IP for your NextPVR server (and you should be with remote clients) than you will need to change to Kodi installation to use the new one. If it is the same static IP makes sure the old server is off the network.

You can change the IP for the client in the Kodi settings under PVR clients next PVR

As far as sub said last time this happend it was using a network interface that was installed for my nas and it somehow just worked so I don't know how I fixed it last time would you like my logs ?

IP addresses are allocated by dhcp on my network I haven't set no static IP addresses the old server is not on the network anymore

At this point just make sure you have Kodi set up to use the IP of your new server. If that still fails make sure that NextPVR web server is running by testing in a browser on the machine http://localhost:8866 and http://ip:8866 Any firewall or internet security package you installled would have to have port 8866 open for remote Kodi connections.

Ahh completely forgot about firewall settings been a bit busy with the new build and getting everything back up and running I will do that now will let you no

I have tested the webserver from other devices nothing happens but if it's firewall settings it obviously won't
