No questions or complaints. Just wanted to say that I have been successfully using NextPVR to record with a USB Tuner. I view it with Plex.

I run all of this on an old Dual Core self-built PC with 8 Gb of ram, running Windows Home Server 2011.

Not the usual buildout, I'm sure. But it works great.

Thanks for a great product. I'll be donating!

Definitely.

The NextPVR software is now set to where I set it and forget it.

I have to be hands on more with the Plex side, as I have to transcode the videos once recorded since the PC doesn't have the horsepower to transcode on the fly.

But once I transcode it, it plays smooth, and the quality is top notch!

My old single core Pentium runs my NextPVR also, and it does not have the horsepower to transcode very well using the new Modern Web UI either. That is why I still use the older Web interface that calls up the Guide2.aspx page and it uses my VLC to do all the work.

As far as Plex, I use to use that too and it had the same problem with choppy playback etc., but now I use Emby via my Roku 3, and I don't know how they mange to transcode the Mpeg-2 so well, but it is as smooth as if I were watching it live on the NextPVR server itself.

My biggest reason for using plex is my multitude of devices to play back. I have Chromecast, Amazon fire stick, smart TVs, tablets, smart phones, etc.... Plex has more cross-platform support.

transcode? Can you tell me exactly how? Need to use certain programs?
I done .\ffmpeg -i example.ts -c copy example.mp4 before. Is this transcoding?

Bamit:
you posted "As far as Plex, I use to use that too and it had the same problem with choppy playback etc"
Did you mean you try playing final TS file from NPVR in Plex?
I ask cus sometimes I get TS file with bad chunks. Still plays n VLC, MPV but skip/freeze, etc..
