NextPVR very unstable for me

I am new to NextPVR and wanted to give it a try. I had endless trouble getting it to install on my Win 7 system, with different errors along the way, mainly 'unhandled exceptions'. I had to remove and reinstall several times before it finally started working. I only tried to use it on New Zealand FTA IPTV streams. At first it wouldn't play anything but eventually it started working. Not sure what made the difference. I just closed and restarted it a couple of times. I never tried the record functions, just getting it to play was already hard enough. It also had problems reading the EPG at first, though eventually that worked. I managed to play a couple of channels but then it started stuttering and I began getting 'capture device not found' errors. Finally it crashed with a Windows app crash error.

This program is a nice idea but I can't get it to work at all for me. I am attaching the log files folder for the benefit of anyone who wants to investigate this. I am not requesting support because the software just isn't worth the hassle for me. I should add that the IPTV streams I was trying to play are all solid and work reliably and well on Kodi IPTV simple client.

I've not seen any reports of installing the application. Do you happen to remember what these errors said? or if you feel like reinstalling it, so you can capture these.

If you can focus on a single repeatable issue for now, and let me know the details, and post the logs from immediately after reproducing that issue, I'm happy to take a look. (I'm sure we'd only have to do that once or twice, and you'd be past any issues you're having...and other users with same issues would benefit from you spending the time to work through it)

After a quick scan through your logs, and I noted a couple of issues.

You tried accessing this TVNZ station, and it got a 404 Not Found error from this channel. I confirmed in VLC and a web browser that this channel stream does not exist at this location (and would not have worked in the Kodi IPTV simple client)

You tried accessing two Australian streams that did not work (SBS and Seven). One returned a 403 Forbidden. The other returned a 404 Not Found.

These channels returning 404's are invalid channel URLs in the m3u file your imported from (and not working in other players either).

The Australian stations are region locked, and require either a VPN or DNS service to fake you being in Australia. The 403 was likely because you're failing this region lock test. If you do have a VPN/DNS, there was an updated NShared.dll that fixed an issue with one Australian station, which may be what you were seeing.

I've not seen any reports of installing the application. Do you happen to remember what these errors said? or if you feel like reinstalling it, so you can capture these.

The installation errors occurred when I first tried installing. I remember seeing something about 'unhandled exception' errors but I don't recall exactly what. When I ran into the other problems, I uninstalled, cleared out the settings, and reinstalled a few times. With those later efforts I did not have any more installation errors. I only mentioned this because it dented my confidence in the software overall when I also got the other errors. At the moment I still have it installed. I think if I uninstalled and reinstalled, I probably would not get those errors again.

I did not 'try' to access any particular channel, either NZ or Australian. I used an M3U link that was posted for NZ Freeview. I didn't try to edit any of the channels so whatever produced errors was part of that file. I do use a DNS unblocker but I'm not sure what it was set to while trying this.

I will go through this again, edit out the problem channels, and see what happens. I will also reinstall and start fresh just as a check, but it may take a couple days as I also have other things I have to do. I will report back.
