NEXT PVR back-end and client usage question.

Hello,
First I would like to say that I'm new with NExt PVR back-end and client on Kodi.
I would like to know if there is any way fro the Kodi client not to use the NextPVR back-end every time i switch channels. This creates issues for me every now and then by loosing connection to the server and not able to find tuner or something like that.
I would like to use the client to to just send to server what program i want to record and only then to use the back-end server recorder. Not when i just watch live.
Please let me know if I'm making any sense here.

NextPVR has two components ... 1) The NextPVR front-end that you see on screen and that you use to change NextPVR Settings such as scanning for channels. The NextPVR front-end can also be used to schedule recordings and to watch the earlier recordings ... 2) The NextPVR Recording Service runs continuously in the background and performs functions that include connecting to tuner hardware and creating recording files.

The TV function in Kodi connects to the NextPVR Recording Service for all of its functions so the connection to the NextPVR Recording Service must be present at all times.

I understand now that might be for when you use a tuner hardware. Maybe this would be a feature request where if you use the IPTV tuner, the client could just switch channels and the back end only use the tuner when a recording is requested?
