One second recordings

I think I've seen this issue discussed before but cannot find it.

Of the four programs I'd scheduled for recording last night, 2/5/18, one recorded OK while the other three recorded for only one second. Each of these programs has one minute of pre- and post-padding.

CBS 8pm Supergirl - 1 second of pre-padding
FOX 8pm Lucifer - 1 second of pre-padding
TNT 9pm The Alienist - OK
CBS 10pm Scorpion - 1 second of pre-padding

And again this morning(no pre-/post-padding):
CMT 7am-9am - 1-second

Tuner is the Hauppauge DCR-3250 Triple Tuner. It was suggested that I re-boot the tuner but that didn't fix the problem.

The log looks normal except for the "glitch" about no tuner available(NRecord.log 2018-02-05 20:59:00.195) yet recording "stops" just one second later for those three programs. I had installed the latest versions of NPVRWriter.ax and NPVRTSReader4.ax that morning. These recordings are scheduled to record after I have signed off.

I had run a test of padding by recording back-to-back (5-min manual)programs on three different channels while watching live TV. That all worked.

Is there a thread resolving this problem? Is there a way to monitor or log what NRecord is receiving at any given time? Where is the data going?:confused:

How big were the files on disk?

Files sizes:

Lucifer: Size 752KB(770,236 bytes) Size on disk 760KB(778,240 bytes)
Supergirl: Size 939 KB(961,996 bytes) Size on disk 944KB(966,656 bytes)
Scorpion: Size 1.52MB(1,600,444 bytes) Size on disk 1.53MB(1,605,632 bytes)

You might need to catch it when one of these failed recordings is happening, and check what it stays on the DCR web pages.

The only situation I'm aware of where you can get a one (or so) second recording with this type of tuner, is when the device has started delivering data for a channel, then decided it's encrypted and stopped the delivery of any further data. I wouldn't expected that with CBS/TNT (some cable companies do encrypt FOX). Hopefully the DCR web pages will tell us why it's not sending data.

This has been happening for some time. I have monitored the DCR web pages for the tuners while recording and they always show a reasonable data rate. Never zero.

Can NPVR report in a log file the data received? Port-timestamp-bytecount sort of thing?

It'll produce huge files but... create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\ LogNetPush=2 (DWORD. This will create files in c:\temp of all the data received.

You may also want to look at your firewall/antivirus software. These may be blocking network traffic.

Sorry, I don't follow you. If you're wondering about multiple tuners receiving multiple streams at the same time, that's why I set LogNetPush=2, which will create a separate file for each.

Sorry, I thought =2 was for 2 tuners.
