OSD Transparancy

When ever the OSD displays (IE pausing/skipping the video) it covers over the video instead of being transparent.

My setup is
Athlon 1700XP
Geforce 440 (TV-OUT)
PVR-250


Other than that it's a great PVR package.

Hi,

you should look in your config.xml file, there is a setting in there called <OSDTransparency>255</OSDTransparency>,
The value inside this defines the degree of transparancy.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly, it only shows up with this value in some instances, e.g. Mini guide doesn't work with it, etc.

The value I have shown, 255 is the one to make it totally opaque.

I've never seen that. Are you 100% sure?

timberwolf0122, are you configured to use Overlay instead of VMR? Overlay does not allow alpha-blending so you dont get any nice semi-transparent graphics.

When you say it covers over the video, do you mean just part of the screen or the whole screen?

Yes, at least on my PC the OSD transparancy, is not all set by config. value.
I use the PVR350 TV out. On initial channel change, the OSD looks fine, but for example when the mini guide is bought up, it has the normal OSD transparancy (e.g. the setting at about 157).
It also happens when you bring up info. about the current channel.

You're right, it was doing this on the pvr350. I've now fixed this for the next release.

I was using Overlay but when ever I use VRM9 (VMR7 does not work) it displays the video in a separate active movie window.

This usually occurs is you're using the Cyberlink MPEG decoder with VMR. These two aren't compatible with each other. Try selecting a different decoder.
