I have i3 windows 10, desktop, 120GB SSD HD, 4GB RAM.
Would adding more RAM help with NPVR recordings process?

I noticed pagefiles.sys file is 4gb, 5gb, up to 6gb sometimes.
So I been thinking about adding 4GB of more RAM.

It probably wouldn't make any substantial difference. I guess it'd all come down to how much other stuff you're trying to run on the same machine.

If you're only using the PC for NPVR, I would have thought that 4Gb should be sufficient but it might help to disable some unnecessary windows services and processes from startup so that you only have the processes running that you require.

My PC is using 3.3GB RAM running NPVR and Roon (music playback software). The difference between NVR not running and running and recording 5 TV shows at the same time is a few 100MB, that's all.

Check your memory use in Task Manager>Memory to see how much is in use and go to the resource manager to see what processes are consuming the most memory.
