NextPVR will ask Windows to be awake at that time, so the machine will wake, do the EPG update then go back to sleep.
By the way, after Graham gave nme the test instructions, I always set the time in the misc2 screen to 20 minutes after the actual time.
But if I understand you well guys, nextPVR updates the EPG via OTA:
- Only at the given time in the screen Misc2. So if the PC is off at that time - e.g. 20:00:00 and you turn on the PC at 21:00:00 nextPVR does not catch-up the missed update anymore.
-In case the PC is on and you are watching TV at the given update time, the update is also not taking place because the tuner is busy. And a twin tuner might also be busy with recordings ort time-shifting
?
If this is the case, nexrPVR ist probably not the backend for me as my htpc is on approx. 3 -4 times per week and I would need that it updates the EPG in the background, at least if I am watching a movie or listening to music from the HDD, no matter what time it is.
Also Germany probably gets a week or so of listings at a time, so if the occasional night can't run the EPG update because you're recording etc, it's not a big deal, you'll still have listings in the guide for like 6 days, and it'll catch up the next night.
(FYI, eastavin who also asked questioned above, is in the US, where they only transmit like 6 hours of EPG, so the story is quiet different there...)
