I have handbrake installed, so I may be able to trim it down from multi GB's, but I wouldn't want to convert the format...

Definitely don't run it through handbrake. If you need to trim it, you can use cutchunk (http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...y.CutChunk). If you do trim it down though, make sure the new smaller file still has the problem in your environment.

Here's a cut chunk from the .ts file 'NBC Nightly News' recorded on May 17th. This error is just after the beginning of the lead story, about the Hawaiian volcano eruption, and occurs at around the 2:34 minute mark in the program. This chunk runs until about 3:17.

I've reinstalled NPVR 4.1.1 to confirm that this file reproduces the crash.

For the next build I've fixed this issue where NPVRTSReader4.ax could crash when playing back files with reception issues present in the file.

Just a minor update here, but on a whim I tried checking the option 'use legacy TSreader', and 4.1.1 no longer crashes for minor reception issues in the file, such as the one that I uploaded. However, I still got a crash with a seriously messed up recording.

Will just use NPVR with this option enabled until the next build is available.

Overdue update!

I've been testing v4.2.2 without the legacy NPVR TSreader enabled. So far, no new crashes from TS files with reception issues. Even the sample file used earlier for testing plays fine now!
