Hi,
I seem to have lost access to several HD channels recently. This is a well known problem, and affects my TV as well as my PC/NPVR:
https://www.homecinemachoice.com/news/ar...-why/26373

Has anyone else seen this, and if so is there any reliable fix?
Thanks
Andrew

Are you using UK Freeview? If so, what transmitter are you tuned to? You could try scanning All Regions/Frequencies...

There is a major re-allocation of Multiplexor frequencies currently underway.

Let us in to the secret of your Transmitters name and I can look up which frequencies have changed - it may be just a case of retuning, Sub has added the new Tuning ini's to the latest installer - instructions in the first thread that Graham pointed out. Or in some areas it is possible that a new aerial is required if you want to keep receiving those channels - again with the transmitter name (or the area where you live) I can let you know.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Hi,
I'm to the South West of London. My antenna currently targets Crystal Palace. Guildford might also be an option, but I'd have to turn the antenna through 180deg.
Thanks

Unzip the attachment into C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T (overwriting the one already there), then rescan and reload your EPG.

The Latest tuning ini has been in the installer since the beginning of June - re-tune by re-selecting United Kingdom then [London - Crystal Palace(Mar 21 2018)]

However if you still can not get the extra HD channels (and your stand alone TV can't get them after a re-tune) you will most likely need a new TV aerial - Crystal Palace has been a group A Transmitter and the HD Channels are now well out of this band. But be aware that these channels may (or may not) be switched off in 2021.

Somebody else had the same problem a few weeks ago on a different transmitter https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...g+periodic More info on aerials etc. in this thread.

No point in turning the aerial - Guildford doesn't have the extra HD channels and you would definitely need a wideband aerial.

Dear All,
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately although NPVR recognises the existence of the two stations, there's no usable signal. This is an almighty pain given that it's only a couple of months since we sorted it out last time, and it's only a couple of years since I invested in a new antenna!
I'll have to investigate the BBC iPlayer downloads app, but that's not ideal as I like to keep some of the BBC4 programs.
Thanks anyway
Andrew

From:

INDUSTRY BRIEFING
From Digital UK, the organisation leading technical co-ordination
of the 700MHz clearance programme
Issued: June 2018

"Viewers reliant on DTT who are unable to restore those services affected after a retune as a result of
these changes may be eligible for in-home support (See below). In the first instance, all viewers
should be directed to freephone 0808 100 0288."

It is possible that you are entitled to a free aerial upgrade - For more information or help with this call the Freeview Advice Line on freephone 0808 100 0288. It would be worth contacting them to see what they say - after all they are making Billions out of selling off OUR bandwidth for 5G  so what's the cost to them of putting a new aerial in for you!

If you do let us know the outcome so we can advise others.
