Kodi 18 - Live TV Freezing

Hi Guys,

I've pretty much moved away from my Windows PC Kodi setup to a NVidia Shield and my Interlacing issues are no longer an issue, but I now have an issue where when I select a Channel to watch from the EPG,
usually it hangs on a static screen and I have to Channel Up/Channel Down or stop and select the channel again to get the channel to work. Its not a hard freeze, but obviously gets caught in a loop.

I've pasted the PasteBin in the Kodi thread below (Issue 1 of 2) in case its Kodi related rather than NextPVR.

You need to post matching Kodi debug logs with your NextPVR logs.

Previously I've been asked to supply Kodi.log (debug) specifically, which is pasted in the first post. Is this incorrect?

That is a good debug log yes but it doesn't show the NextPVR side which we need to see to see how the channel change might have caused the error below

No worries, i'll reproduce the issue tonight and get a new debug log for both Kodi and NextPVR.

Apologies for the delay, keen to get this worked out as its the last issue I have with a Shield-Only setup.

Can I confirm which NextPVR log I need (File Path) in conjunction with the Kodi Debug log?

It's probably best to send them all ... an easy way is NextPVR Settings --> About --> Press the Zip logs button ... Plus it is often helpful to tell us the time that the symptoms happened so that we know where to look in the logs. Thanks.

I'd seen comments on the Kodi forums indicating these Shield problems happen with various PVR addons. Ultimately, it's just sounding like the Kodi implementation itself is buggy on the Shield, rather than something wrong with the PVR addons (which are not having this issue on other platforms). Any fix is likely to have to be made by the Kodi devs themselves, or more likely the guys that maintain the Shield port.
