Blank screen without audio on certain channels, unable to watch live tv or record

Hi,

With the new TV season, I've noticed that one recording has consistently failed. Since I wasn't watching it regularly, I didn't notice it. Other recordings are fine.

Poking around, several channels don't tune with live tv. May be coincidental, but they are higher numbered channels.

Windows 10 latest edition, NPVR 4.2.2, running HDHR Prime latest firmware 20180921 with Default BDA compatibility. The HDHomeRun application tunes fine for all available channels. Windows firewall completely disabled.

I'm guessing that channel is copy protected now.

If you open http://<ipaddress>/lineup.xml?show=unprotected in a browser, is that channel listed?

Yes, I can see all the channels in that page. These are all OTA ATSC broadcast channels.

If you try recording that channel, do you get a file on disk? is it zero bytes long, or bigger?

0kb file. Eventually (I believe when the show ends and recording ends) there's some sort of error about not locking or having no data. I deleted those failed recordings so I don't have the exact wording right now. I'm trying to record something right now.

It sounds like the device isn't delivering any data for that channel, like maybe something about the channel has changed, and it's no longer the same channel.

Have you tried deleting the channel, and rescanning for it?

The US is going through an atsc repack with about 1000 channels being changed so I expect channel scanning is going be required by a lot. Of users over the next year.

Deleting and re-scanning the channels seems to have done the trick. I also emptied the EPG, but I don't think that mattered. I had previously just re-scanned the channels. I wonder what the difference would be. Thanks!

I wonder if I got hit by the re-pack too.
