Live TV doesn't work on MPV

I'm using the latest version, everything is working well except the LiveTV on MVP. LiveTV works well on the PC, but when I choose LiveTV on the MVP menu the MVP screen changes to the initial "contacting servers" screen. I have tried with different LiveTV pre-play delay and it is now at 2000ms, and the TV card is a Hauppauge 150 PVR. After this occur, I can only recover closing the server and opening it again. You've stopped both of the Hauppauge MediaMVP services right?

Yes, and everything else works ok, including some plugins (weher, jukebox, music albuns, etc.). For the livetv I don't get even some seconds as others say, it just doesn't work. I sin't told you in the previous message that this problem occured also with a previous version and I upgraded to try to solve the problem but it is still the same. Any clues?

Disable the firewall on your XP SP2 machine :-)

Hi, I'll try that tonight, I'm not at home at the moment. I suppose that this is not the problem, because everything else works well - I can see movies recorded on the pc, listen to mp3, see the wether forecast, etc. just can't see live tv and live tv works well on the pc. I'll post here the result tonight.

Just to make an update and tell all of you that the microkid sugestion was on the spot! Disabeling Windows XP SP2 firewall and live tv is working great on the MPV :-)
What intrigue me is that the GBPVR.exe is in the exception list in this firewall, so it should not block it! But this is not the first time it ocurred, a few days ago I have a similar problem with multicast video between PCs that didn't work, and it was the bloody XP SP2 firewall, so I should have know, stupid me! Thanks microkid and sub for all your help, and again sub for a great mediacentre for our 'beloved' MPV box!
By the way, anyone knows a firewall that 'respects' the settings, or a way to configure the XP SP2 firewall in order to work well with GBPVR and MVP?

Just don't run a firewall on your internal network. As far as I'm concerned, software firewalls running on machines are a waste of resources and a serious PITA. There's nothing on my internal network that needs to be afraid of anything else internally. Put a firewall where it belongs - at the last point where you connect to the outside world.

I completely agree with you. My problem is that unfortunatly the computer where gbpvr is installed is the only 'desktop' (my other pcs are laptops, so they aren't always available), and I also use it to run other servers to be accessible from the internet, including several comunication applications that I develop and test here. It is a bit of a pain to configure the router / firewall (Asus WG500) everytime I try something new... I know this isn't the correct solution, but it was the simplest. Now I'm begining to rethink this, because the XP SP2 firewall has problems as I described - application excluded from the firewall sometimes continue to be blocked someway by it, and only work disabeling the firewall.
