Do you have a c:\temp\crash.mdmp file?

No c:\temp folder, but i have one now.

I'll reboot and wait for it to happen again.

I’m away from home for a couple of weeks, so can’t check the mdmp until I’m back home. Sorry!

Np. ;-) The remedy is simple, reboot.

Yesterdays crash also kept the service recording all night so I now have three 25GB files! Just to let you know.

So, it failed up record three programs yesterday. I think the EPG update at 12:00 crashed it.

I'm going to disable the auto EPG update and see if its more stable.

My desperation to debug this, being a professional programmer, is immense ;-)

It crashes with a "Error dumping" Info box message, then shuts down. Seems random on which channel it does it on. Tried Empty EPG and it still does it.

So, NPVR is borked here if it can't get the EPG info.

I'm surprised other people are not seeing the same issue in the UK.

My take.

So, since the change in frequencies, my signal quality (considering I was prev a group E) from mendip frequencies has deteriorated since the switch in april to lower frequencies.

This is causing more errors in the EPG data. This is is triggering faults in the decoding in NPVR which is causing exceptions.

The routined in NPVR need probably to be more robust to bit errors.

And in june, when the freq switches end, i need a new antenna.

Here in Sunny W-S-M on Mendip TX have been having exactly the same problems - Overnight epg update at 05:15 crashes every other night. Manual update always crashes within a minute. I do have a wideband log periodic aerial, but in the roof.

I think this started a month or so before the April re-tune, think Sub may need a Full transport stream dump when he comes back from Holidays.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh
