On Linux I can run the following, and it'll continue to run in the background, even if I close the terminal. You can probably do something similar on the mac.
./NextPVRServer & disown
In future I'll look at providing scripts to have it auto start in the background with the machine etc. (still very early days for NextPVR v5)
Forgive me for bumping an old thread. If I use this command to launch the app in the background, will I lose the ability to monitor the server in real time? Or can I use Console.app to track a log file of some sort?

Yea, I found the Log download location which is really nice. I'm a "watch a pot boil" kind of guy, especially when it comes to testing, so I was hoping to retain as much of the console output as possible. No matter, I can continue to run the app manually. I haven't decided which platform I intend to leverage long term anyway.
