Hi,

I am constantly getting this error (see screenshot).

My HDHomerun works fine and Plex was happily recording yesterday.

I am not sure how to diagnose this myself.

thanks,
James.

You'll need to zip and attach the logs.

I installed ffmpeg (which I thought was only to view live TV), but now it works. Is that a lucky coincidence or could that have been the problem?

cheers,
J.

No the HDHR doesn't need ffmeg. The problem was related to the message you showed error. Going by the channel name is there DRM on that station? NextPVR doesn't support DRM.

No DRM. I was recording a standard free OTA channel in the UK.

I am recording another episode right now (of the same show on th same channel) and it the file is now 744MB, so something has changed.

cheers,
James.

[edit: It completed successfully].

FYI I get this behavior ("No Errors, but no data delivered") from my HDHR occassionally on V4. It has been tracked down to the server sometimes trying to use a port which isn't available for receiving the stream. When it happens there, if you look at the HDHR or the network traffic with wireshark, the data is flowing from the HDHR to the server--that recording thread just isn't receiving it and writing it to the disk. I believe that I've also seen it once on my v5 test server, but didn't notice it until well after the recording had occurred, so logs were no longer available.

For future reference, there is a 'zip my logs' button on the Settings -> About page.

2019-07-03 20:55:00.323 [ERROR][32] System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Service Unavailable.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at NShared.Shim.InputSourceHTTP.WorkerThread()
It looks like it's tried to start the recording, but the HDHomeRun has returned "(503) Service Unavailable".

According to SiliconDust, it'll be one of these:
Quote:If the request cannot be completed at this time (for example all tuners are in use) the tuner will
return “503 Service Unavailable”.

If the program cannot be not found in the stream within 5 seconds or the program cannot be
authorized within 5 seconds the tuner will return “503 Service Unavailable”.

If the program requires content-protection not requested by the client the tuner will return “503
Service Unavailable” after 5 seconds. This error code may change in the future to return a more
relevant error code.
ie, all tuners in use, or it was unable to find the channel at that time, or it was copy protected.
