Browsing through the latest release of V5 beta and did not find anywhere to set the time of day for auto-updating the guide.

Still a work in progress or did I miss it?

Thanks.

Like in:
  • case of long file names which overlaps current time in top right corner of now playing OSD
  • right click menu / Audio Stream/ only Disable is visible(no other tracks)
  • default Media Folders should be user's default video and music folder, not entire C drive

Did you change the time in config.xml?

Thanks.
Do you mean the time it happens etc? Current it defaults to automatically update, and it happens at like 3am. I've still got to put some settings in the web to allow the time etc to be configured. I'll put this in the Settings->Guide page for the next build.

Sorry I wasn't a little clearer. I was trying to find out where in the web app I could make the change. Thanks, sub. I'm so used to having most configuration changes at my fingertips in V4 Settings. Will the V5 UI be as complete? Changing config.xml is cumbersome.

Of course the intention isn't to have you update config.xml manually. Ultimately I'll put settings in the web app for the all the commonly used things in config.xml. I'm still trying to work out exactly what those settings should be. Feedback from users will help determine what settings will be added there. The EPG update time has been added there for the next release.

config.xml will always have some things not changeable in the UI (just the same as v4), because a lot of these settings very niche things that few users ever use. I prefer to keep the settings screens looking clean and easy to understand, rather than a huge pile of random confusing settings that no one ever uses.

Thanks, sub. I agree completely. I'll be reviewing and submitting my own "best of config.xml" for your consideration.
