Are there any other areas in which I could help with some testing?

I now have v4 and v5 servers up, remote or local, and many client options: Windows, Linux (any distro), Librelec, Mac, Android Phone, Android Tablet, Kindle, iPad, Chromebook.

At this stage I am not testing much in knewc I am waiting for python3 to be added to Kodi but if you are interested in testing PR16116 builds from http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/windows/win64/ I would be curious to see how that works.

I also plan to move to a new TV grid https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:UEPG for the python UI since I have found the python3 port really causes a slow down compared to the python2 code in the python guide UI. I think this may be because of all the unicode conversions I have to do from the UTF in NextPVR but there are also some new errors navigating the grid that might be a factor.

Bug reports on anything else are always welcome.

In PR16116, knewc 2.7.2 exits immediately with an error. I noticed it defaulted to Confluence skin, so I changed it to Estuary since that's Kodi's default (and I didn't change it).

Log Attached (I think)

The 3 step attach is a bit tricky to get used to. I see the issue, can you edit the file KNEW_Connect.py and change line 47 to

Code:
try:
    from httplib import HTTPException
except:
    from http.client import HTTPException

I will try for an update later today.

Thanks for testing.

Hmm well I didn't find a file called KNEW_Connect.py. I found XNEWA_Connect, but nothing like that in that area.
Knew_Client.py had on line 47 "from httplib import HTTPException" so I figured that must be it; changed it as above but no change in behavior.

Logs attached.

Ok you got by the first python error, sorry about the error) and now it is the Kodi UI client side failing, the python UI might work and you might be able to connect to v4

Yeah I believe it works with python UI and v4, already tested that.

I don't particularly need this configuration to work, just trying to help testing and debugging.

Thanks for testing. Most users of knewc or nlite need UI Client to work there are things in it that aren't available through the web UI. At this point I don't consider it a python3 issue it applies to v18 and earlier too, so no need to continue with this PR version.

I will eventually be testing python3 in Kodi after the PR gets merged, I have too many Kodi's on my dev box (6 right now) and it is getting a bit confusing which is why I asked if you could help test. Thanks again.
