Question about Channel Changing

If someone is on a particular channel, is there any way to output to another individual what channel is currently being used, or could this be implemented in the future? My upload is on gigabit. So multiple users is not a problem.

NextPVR is personal use only so multiple users could be a problem.

I meant from a license perspective.
Nothing is provided to kodi about what channels are in use elsewhere for live tv and you might have to check each recording for the channel. The only real advantage to this is when you don't have enough tuners and you want to watch a channel someone else isn't watching. The proper solution is buy more tuners. Martin

Very true, and definitely something I plan on doing for sure. But I kind of want to do it just for shiz and gigs.
I know kodi lets me know if recordings get deleted or added, so i thought i might be able to edit config.xml to tell kodi if i try to tune to a channel thats being used what channel it is . I want to say kodi tells me the channel/program thats being recorded if thats being done, so it should be similar to watching I would think.

There is no Kodi API for this and even if there was the logic to tell if a channel can be watched or not is not trivial and likely not worth implementing. You can check out the method=system.status API call which gives you information like the tray icon but I am not interested in following up on this discussion.
