/opt/dotnet/dotnet: No such file or directory

Hi all. Installed nextpvr on an ubuntu 16.04 server instance that was installed from scratch

sudo apt install ./nextpvr-helper.deb --install-recommends

did not complain with anything obvious, have log of it if you'd like to see it.

however, the server did not start. syslog reports

Nov  3 14:16:32 nvr systemd[1]: Starting NextPVRServer...
Nov  3 14:16:32 nvr server.sh[8988]: Starting server../opt/nextpvr/shell/server.sh: line 27: /opt/dotnet/dotnet: No such file or directory
Nov  3 14:16:34 nvr server.sh[8988]: Done. PID=
Nov  3 14:16:34 nvr systemd[1]: Started NextPVRServer.


and indeed /opt/dotnet does not exist, and it is not referenced in the install anywhere (but /opt/nextpvr is)

Appreciate any assistance. Apologies if this is covered in an existing thread. I searched site:forums.next.pvr /opt/dotnet and found nothing relevant via google.

Did you read through the announcement thread and note that sub recently broke the linux install so some extra steps are required? If so can you capture the output from

sudo dpkg -i ./nextpvr-helper.deb

and post it here.

i did not see that, no. and i just read it. let me grab that zip file and have another go.

i'm going to make the assumption i shoudl s/mac/linux in the url provided, yeah?

ok, well after all of that /opt i still empty and syslog reports the same error as before

No it is right to use the mac zip, the missing files are there and cross platform.

arg. forum won't allow .txt file attachment and i can't paste it into a post because it's too long ... how can i send it to you?

Can't you zip it? I don't need the syslog just the output from dpkg?
