The attached file adds win32 support for mouse control in UI client mode.   Note that double clicks that are too fast will be ignored.

Note the forum won't let me remove rc2 be sure to grap rc4

I have updated post #1 with a new version that supports mouse control in UI Client on linux.

To us this you need to be running x11 and able to install install xdotool

sudo apt-get install xdotool

should be available with yum and pacman too.

If you run windowed on linux you may need to adjust the title bar offset in the settings if the clicks don't work.

Here is a video demo of the new mouse support in knewc, it is pretty accurate https://youtu.be/KySILg_Jcqc

A second thing this video highlights is comksip in UI Client mode without having to set up a share.

Also, I sensed no feedback from you about my 2nd paragraph concerning the mouse:

Now...I took your suggestion about selecting the group in the UI Client but I tried it first in the desktop app. I easily selected the group from the top menu using the mouse. The desktop app reliably shows the selected group upon further launches. When I tried to get to the top menu in the RPi4 UI Client, I noticed that the mouse does not work. I can see the mouse pointer and it moves as directed but mouse clicks do nothing and I can only use the keyboard which will not get me to the top menu. I checked my Kodi settings and found that the mouse/touchpad use was selected and I can operate the Raspbian desktop with no problems.

Let me add that I am using a Logitech USB mouse and keyboard. Is this compatible with the UI Client?

John, I moved your question to the relevant thread because I want to release this version.  On your RPi can you go to addons\script.kodi.knewc\resources\lib\xdo and see if you get anything when you run

python xdo.py

I tried what you suggested: Went to given folder and entered the run command. No errors buy nothing visible happened. What should I look for?

Sorry, Martin, but what's the relevant thread?

You were mixing the mouse topic which is still not offiicially released with the channel group thread.

so no error is good although from the original log it isn't loading what do you get with

xdotool getmouselocation getwindowfocus from bash.

OK...Got a reasonable response: x:844 y:500 screen:0 window:14681554 then an 8-digit number: 20971523.

Seems to work.

Those are good results. Perhaps you are not using an x11 build of Kodi, which does makes some sense on the RPi.
