nope. but it does work if I use the newer device IP (11.133)

So I guess it's in an issue with the older HDHR tuner and Martin's thoughts about Record/Watch reverse priority hit the nail on the head for why record worked and watch did not.

Would it be the Mac proprietary driver thing (loading firmware, etc.) or would you expect v5 to be able to work with that older tuner? I guess it worked on Windows because of the BDA driver?

Any more to investigate here?

It does work with older HDHR, but I'm guessing the problem is related to having a mixed set of types, and accepting the option to copy the config from the newer tuner when you went to setup the older tuner?

You might need to set them up separately, and then use 'auto merge' to make them appear as a single set of channels.

You'll also need hdhomerun_config installed. (if it exists for the mac)

got it. I did copy the config for all 4 tuners from the first one. I'll try some work on the setup and let you know.

I think I may have made some progress on this...

Clean config with just the old HDHR in it.
No guide data at this point
Just scan for channels
live tv no problem watching two different channels at same time

Added newer HDHR (4 tuners total now - 2 x old +2 x new)
Still no guide data
Just scan for channels (fyi - slightly different set of channels comes up)
Run Auto-merge / get unique channel number list / looks good

start live tv first channel - comes up on older HDHR - good
start live tv 2nd channel - comes up on older HDHR - good
first pass start live tv 3rd channel - fails
2nd pass start live tv 3rd channel that only exists on newer HDHR - good

So it looks like the tuners are accessible and working fine, but maybe something to do with different ways to access the channels on the two tuners?
As if trying to start the 3rd channel, which is available on old and new HDHR, maybe tries to use old HDHR instructions and fails because trying to bring up channel on new HDHR?

What I'm saying above may not make any sense with the words I picked, but hoping it offers info to investigate.

In believe the issue is the same as many users are experiencing when starting the server before the network is available.

I would see if adding a delay in PreStartup.sh helps.

It does sound like it might be the tuning parameters for the devices are different, but by copying the configuration from 1 tuner to all the other 3 is messing it up.

I would suggest trying this:
1. Start with a new database
2. Configure the channels on the first tuner in the old HDHR
3. Go to configure the 2nd tuner in the same HDHR and accept the option to copy the configuration
4. Go to configure the 1st tuner on the other HDHR, but this time, do NOT copy the configuration. Instead do a full scan/setup
5. Go to configure the 2nd tuner on that other HDHR. This time, I think you can copy the configuration because NPVR copy the config from a tuner on the same HDHR device before it will use one from another HDHR
6. Automerge channels

Then do your same testing.
