Your right! With the 32 bit version of the LAV decoders now installed and selected NextPVR.exe can play all the streams, even troublesome channels from before.

Have noticed that there is a brief moment of stuttering at the start of some channels, is there a setting for pre-buffering?
I will be using emby and kodi as clients so not too worried about getting everything perfect in NextPVR, as long as the stream is stable for those apps.

Still with the DVBT tuner I seem to be missing a block of 8 freeview channels, most of them HD, between 106 and 115.
I have tried scanning with both sandy heath transmitters but they are not showing up. Othe HD channels from 101 to 105 do.
Am I missing some tuning data somewhere?

Possibly. The UK tuning files have been supplied by other UK based users, and it's possible the sandy heath file is incorrect.

You can view/edit the files at C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\tuning\dvb-t

Are the missing channels on mux COM7 & COM8? If so it could be an aerial problem if you dont have a wideband aerial. These two temporary mux have been moved to 746 MHZ and 754 MHZ across the country until the 700 MHZ band is handed over for mobile phone use in the near future! I had a group A aerial which covers about 470 MHZ to about 540 MHZ so no good for 700 MHZ band. Sandy Heath is also a group A area so you would definitely need a wideband aerial if you dont already have one!! Also the power on the two mux is about 6db lower than the rest of the mux at the site!

Yeah, looks like you are probably right going by this chart:
https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/pla...l-listings

Everything from 106 to 115 is missing, along with a couple of other random ones on the same mux.
My aerial is pretty old but I was hoping to not have to replace the it as we may be moving in the next 6 months.

That will also explain why there is the new Sandy heath listing for after 12 Feb and the all frequency scan mentions the 700mhz switch. Do you think after the 700mhx switch over those channels will be accessible again?

In the meantime I do have the option of filling in some of the blanks using the DVBS card I also have in the HTPC, just hoped to not have to maintain 2 separate line ups!

The plan is that in a year or so when the 700MHZ band has to be vacated COM7 & COM8 will be switched off. I think the idea is that some of the DVB-T MUX will convert to T2 and the channels on COM7 & COM8 will move to the extra capacity created. COM8 & COM9 use spare lower power equipment at the transmitters from the early days of digital TV. The idea was make them DVB-T2 and have some "must have" channels to encourage people to buy T2 compatible equipment. I think they are delaying things as much as they can as people with old DVB-T TV or box will loose a lot of channels!!

With hind sight it was a waste of money me getting a new aerial as most of my channels on NextPVR have 4 tuners available 2 DVB-T/T2 and 2 DVB-S/S2. There are 3 or 4 channels on COM7 & COM8 I sometimes watch and the vast majority of the time there will be a satellite tuner available if the channels were not available via terrestrial TV

So doing a scan on 0282 / Astra 2E/2F/2G and leaving the other numbers at their default and I am not picking up a load of channels I should such as Quest HD.

I am sure I'm being dumb but looking at king of sats I cant work out what numbers I am supposed to put in the 3 boxes on the scan screen to pick them up or just scan the individual ranges.

I have not used satellite on V5 yet as my SAT>IP tuner is due to arrive this afternoon. However to find missing channels assuming its similar to V4 instead of Single Satellite select "Manual Scan" and 0282 Astra. You should then have a list of MUX frequencies and for Quest HD select 11426 V. I have just remembered that I lost Quest HD several months ago and the problem was they changed the bit rate from 27500 2/3 to 29500 8/9. I had to edit the 0282.ini file and scan that frequency again.

When I looked at the 0282.ini supplied by NextPVR I see that it dates back to August 2015, so no wonder it was missing frequencies!
I downloaded a fresh and up-to-date 0282.ini one from KingOfSat and re-scanned again and all the channels are there.

@sub cant NextPVR check KingOfSat for an updated .ini file periodically or when setting up a tuner for a first time? At least get the ones it ships with currently up to date ;-)

I still could not work out what to put in those three un-labelled boxes to perform a manual scan of one frequency either.

There was a different service I used to use to update the DVB-S .ini files, but it's gone away. I don't really know anything about KingOfSat, and it doesn't seem to have satellites in my part of the world (New Zealand).

I also can't see where you download ini files there.

Those are the LNB settings. I've added placeholder labels to these fields for the next build.

There is no manual for DVB-S in NextPVR v5 at this stage.
