There is no obvious error shown there.

When you try watching live tv, it'll create a temp file like this:
Quote:2020-01-30 23:15:38.743 [DEBUG][5] Starting Stream: LIVE&C:\Temp\live-RTÉ One-10732-5.ts
Does a file like this get created, and if you copy it before it's deleted, is it non-zero size, and playable in another player?

Yes a file gets created there very briefly, too briefly to copy in time, it is about 2886KB and it disappears just before the channel stops playing.

Have you got VLC? If so, try opening http://127.0.0.1:8866/live?channel=123 (using whatever the real channel number is)

This should try longer, giving you a chance to get the file. It'll also be interesting to hear if it plays in VLC.

This is the message that might be an issue with multirec

2020-01-30 23:15:38.722 [DEBUG][41] ...resource is already in use, but for this capture source, which is digital and channel is on same mux, so...

which is why I wanted to see a test on a unused mux, this one is in use for

2020-01-30 23:13:07.644 [DEBUG][4] StartStream(): P:\PVR\Travellers Guide\Travellers Guide_20200130_22152315-0.ts

In VLC the channel plays well but the temp file is created and deleted pretty quickly, channel plays temp file is created gets to about 3 mb and then gets deleted before a new file is created.

Even when I play a channel that nothing is recording on it stops when playing on Kodi, so yes there was something recording on RTE1 last night but RTE2 using another receiver with nothing recording was stopping in the exact same way, does that help?

I posted what I did to fix my issue, but see that message was deleted from the thread..  Hummm, that fix is still working to this day with no issues.

Ok - so it continues to play well in VLC? If so, then it's possibly just a Kodi bug.

Regarding how quick it creates a new file, on the Setting->General screen, what is the Minutes setting set to?

Yeah it plays ok in VLC, although you can see it stuttering for a frame or two when the file gets deleted and a new one created.

The minute setting is at 20, i haven't changed that. I also rescanned the two receivers and it seems to still be doing the same on those channels.

If it were a Kodi bug would it not be across all of the channels rather than just these two on these receivers?

I doubt a Kodi bug but without Kodi debug logs we won't know.
