Just tried to recreate the problem but that 2nd log file "c:\temp\file-writer-x-x.txt" was not created. I put the LogFileWriter=1(DWORD) value into the same registry key, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR, as the LogDemuxFileOps=1(DWORD). Right?

Hi, sub. Hope you enjoyed breakfast! Alas...

I thought I add my redo with the extra logs. This time was a little different: The problem didn't reappear until I changed channels. With two events from me and SilverTiger, maybe you'll have better luck.

I have been able to reproduce it. It's a permissions error related to sharing resources between two processes. I'm still trying to work out how to fix it.

Can you let me know if this updated NPVRWriter.ax helps?

Fixed it for me, but I had to restart.  Actually, I was too lazy to try and figure out WHAT I needed to restart, so I just restarted the computer.  After that, the tearing is gone.
