Hi!

I am trying to setup NextPVR (v5.0.2.200322) for UDP streams that are being provided by my TV provider. I got it working with NextPVR v4, but I had to remove the @ character that comes after udp:// to make it work (so udp:// instead of udp://@), which is needed to view the stream in (for example) VLC.

After I got it working in v4, I decided to install v5 and see if I could get it working. I couldn't find a place to add a UDP stream (only m3u), so I copied over the npvr.db3 from v4 to v5. When I try watching a channel, the picture is just black and there is no audio. The temp file NextPVR creates to Public\Videos is empty and any recordings are empty as well.

The main error from the logs (also attached) seems to be 'Have received 0 bytes from udp source', but I can confirm that the UDP stream is 100% working. I also tried adding a channel with udp://@ in front of the address (like with VLC), but to no avail.

I haven't found any information about NextPVR (v5) and UDP streams, so I don't know if it's actually supported.

Thanks.

I set up an UDP source on my capture device and I see similar errors.

2020-04-05 13:12:31.982 [DEBUG][157] IPTV StartStream@8
2020-04-05 13:12:31.982 [DEBUG][152] UDP input source starting: udp://238.0.0.1:1237
...
2020-04-05 13:12:32.993 [DEBUG][152] Have received 0 bytes from udp source

I don't need the @ and that url works fine from ffplay and is mpegts h264/aac so it seems to be a v5 issue.

I spent some time looking at this today, and Martin helped me test the fix for the next build.

Unicast udp was working, but multicast udp was not.
