Just finished building a new HTPC.  Still have the old trusty PC running NextPVR version 4 running.

I'm now installing the latest NPVR version 5 on the new PC.  I'm at the point where I need to scan my HD Homerun Prime for channels.  Here is what is happening.

I enter the Scan Channels area ... (Scan Channels)

Select Guiide ..

Shows list of available guides ?

Schedules Direct (USA-0000001-CUSTOM

Schedules Direct (USA-CT06437-X)

... Add Schedules Direct Lineup...

... Add XMLTV Lineup..

I don't know where the two shown available lineups came from?  I first tried the first one  "Schedules Direct (USA-0000001-CUSTOM"

End result was the guide kinda screwed up.   Many channels missing, also some that did play had the wrong info.  Also channels I've never seen.  Those that worked, did play and record, but none contained the proper EPG data.

So I blew away that first setup and started over.  this time selecting  "... Add Schedules Direct Lineup..."

Continued from there selecting the shown available line up which I've been using on SD on my other pc running NPVR vers. 4.  Which is "Comcast Andover (CT) - Digital (Andover)"

However when I try to continue I get an error message saying, " This site says ..  undefined".    I could be wrong but I think this is a "browser" error and might not be a NextPVR error?   Note the old PC running 24/7 is still working fine and doing it's daily EPG updates etc.   This new PC is eventually going to replace that old one.   IF I can get by this setup problem.

I have tried both the MS Edge Browser, and am thinking this might be a browser issue.   I will try again later with Firefox but wonder what you guys find works best.   I am NOT a fan of the Chromium based browsers.

Sorry for the extra spaces between paragraphs .. still having problems with this form and can't get it to properly format my pages without adding several blank lines everywhere.

Thanks .. Rich A

Tried firefox and still have the problem at the same place.  Only in Firefox, I don't get the popup saying  "This site says ..  undefined"    Instead nothing happens .. no errors etc.  no execution.  I have to simply manually close the window to continue without going further.

I am sure that you know that you need to upload zipped logs. To get them in v5 go to the settings tab.

Thanks Martin,

Got it working. Some confusion as to which Sched. Direct guide to use. First I had to "clear" my browser's cache to get rid of the stuck pop up warning when I first tried to use the device setup channel scan. And then had to re-scan and create a new line-up using a different selection on my Schedules Direct account. It all looks okay now. Got to get used to this new "web browser based" application. I hope I can change the GUI layout somewhat as I was able to in Version 4. I also have to re-establish my keyboard and remote control setup and figure out how to navigate around.
Going to have to do some reading to bone up on this new fangled web based application. If I can ask, "what browser is the best for this application"?

The v5 web app is not intended to be controlled from the sofa. Nextpvr.exe is in the ... Clients ... Folder in program files. It runs on the same machine as NextPVR Server. There is also Kodi.

Ah thanks Graham !! I found the program exe to use instead of the web application. Always ran the old system on a stand alone dedicated nextpvr system. Never even used any of the web application things there .. just a pc program on a pc playing to a TV controlled mostly by a Harmony Remote.

BTW, I kinda like the web app thing .. I'll have to see what options are available for that. So far everything looks good.

Best of both worlds ... Sat on the sofa with a tablet and web browser in one hand and a remote in the other hand ... I'm a big fan of Harmony.

I have my Harmony hooked up to Google Home. "Hey Google turn on the TV" no need for hands.

For some NextPVR sofa fun, you can cast from Chrome to Chromecast

Opps .. still problems.

Thanks for the comments .. I "thought" I was all set.   However starting having various problems too numerous to list so I uninstalled NPVR, cleared both caches in Firefox and MS Edge browsers and then removed traces of NPVR from my Win 10 registry.   I have been trying to do a new install but now the install process doesn't seem to "finish".  It never gives me any indication of a successful install.  Just stops.   I do see the NPVR tray icon.   Clicking on "Web App" or "Desktop App" brings up my browser or the executable GUI ... but the browser doesn't connect and says "website not found" and the EXE GUI shows but says it too can not connect to the server
Have checked AV stuff, firewall etc. and all show NextPVR enabled and being passed.   Zipped logs attached

Create a c:\temp directory, then run the installer, then zip and attach the c:\temp\install.txt file
