hit enter on the video you will see start transcoding. Hit that. Then the play button will become active. Hit play.

What is the files extension. Wmv and avi are added by default. Did you specify the batch file for start in the skin.xml. If they are not found it things gbpvr knows about those types.

I've got another unrelated XGuide error that I thought I would throw here rather than start a new thread.
When I try to select a show that is currently recording from the guide it brings up the standard menu (Play, Edit, Delete, Find More, Exit) but the Play option doesn't seem to work. If I go to XRecord and play the pending recording it works fine, but the choice in XGuide apparently does nothing.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing or did I do something stupid?

I was wondering, and figure there must be a technical reason it can't be done: Is it possible to allow you to play the channel you select, w/o choosing the show?

It always happens w/ the 1/2 hour shows, or when you are looking at 8pm shows and it's 7:59 that you just want to play from the block you are on, w/o having to move to the show.

Is that possible? I assume no, as the block is linking to the instance of the show, and you can't just tell it to assume the whole line like a link.

There should be a 5 minute fudge factor. So if it is 7:55 you can start watching that show. I can allow you to watch a channel as long as any program on that channel is selected. I was just trying to support the same feel as the original tv guide.

> Is it possible to allow you to play the channel you select, w/o choosing the show?
so I think the answer is yes. Code wise I can control what channel you are watching. I just have to be able to get it form the UI.

The code should show watch at 7:55 if not let me know and I will fix it.

The watch api works by channel not by show. I use a show to determine the channel.

You are correct. It does not work in XSearch either. I have fixed them for the next release probably later today or tomorrow.

> did I do something stupid?
Nope, Apparently I did and deleted the play logic. Smile

It's possible some folks want to go to live by choosing the exact show only, so maybe it's worth making an option. Or, allowing people to set the range to include in pressing (5min, 30min, 90min, exact, no limit).

In any case, I think it would be cool. I think XGuide is already an Guide alt, so the differences should be welcome. It doesn't mean it has to be as opposite as vanilla over chocolate, but I think more separation than vanilla over french vanilla is a good thing.

Btw, is there an easy way in the XML to narrow the grid width (one width setting over may inter-related width settings)? There may be some folks like me that use the vid card zoom to make a more natural fit on the screen (at natural size, some text on screen is too small, and I get those dancing dots on the top sometimes if it's exposed). It cuts into the numeric portion of the guide.

NBD if it's not. I moved the zoom around to adjust for it for the most part.

XRecord .v39
v.39 2005–09–15 (Requires 94.8 or later)

xsearch and xguide-fixed the play button if a pending recording.
xguide-if a show is started or 5 minutes to start the play button will allow you to watch a channel.

I'm running into some bugs testing. One thing I figured out is the yellow is Sci Fi. I don't know why it is on. But I notcied a bunch of these in longs, which I assume would be the other colors:
9/15/2005 12:40:36 PM.546 ERROR [2] Unable to find brush: /settings/NamedColors/NamedColor[@name="GenereBrush_Entertainment"]

I also noticed it's not picking up the guides I set up right...the all off or my "all" don't seem to work.

I also got it to blow up doing something. I lost the green bar coming out of a show, and it just threw this on anything I clicked on after:

9/15/2005 12:41:09 PM.250 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x100 (WM_KEYDOWN) hwnd=0xe024a wparam=0x50 lparam=0x1 result=0x0 : System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I like vanilla.. Smile

I will add the fudge factor to the xml.

I will add the grid width to the xml

I just responded to your other post. If you edit schedule-skin.xml you can specify the colors for each genere. If you do color code your guide can you send me your xml so I can include it.

Can you email me one of your guides. jared_dubin at hotmail.com

I will add a guard for this.
