1 second recordings

i can get perfectly fine recordings on any channel except TCM. recording anything on that channel shows it working for an hour (or whatever) but looking at the video shows almost nothing. i don't know where to look.

I have a Hauppauge DCR-3250 hardwired to a netgear router. My desk top is also connected to the router. I rescanned the channels in the tuner. I scanned the channels in NPVR.

I get the same result from scheduling in NPVR and Kodi, live tv in both.

Any ideas?

When you say "almost nothing" do you get video even briefly?

Also for your device and that channel what does this show

It's likely that channel is copy-once/copy-never and not available to NextPVR.

The contents of http://<hdhr-ip-address>/lineup.xml should be able to tell us.

I get just a blip of sound and video. If I had to guess, i would say 1/10th of a second. Looking at the direct lineup, the channel is not marked HD. also not DRM. but it is marked as TCMHD

How big does a recording end up on disk? Tiny, or big but nothing shows when playing it?

the latest was supposed to be 15 minutes - 6,849KB. i normally get about 2 GB for a one hour recording. the last successful 15 minute recording was 236,425Kb on 4 April. I don' know what changed after that.

If you play http://192.168.1.5:5004/auto/v53 with vlc or ffplay does video play?

I'm pretty sure it's a copy-once channel. You absolutely can get a couple of frames from these channels before the Hauppauge DCR-3250 stops delivering data.

That is what is on TCM now so it sounds like a problem with the DCR source, that is the stream that NextPVR would use. Maybe power cycle the DCR and contact your cable provider if the problem continues.
