Now I have NextPVR V5 running correctly on my NextPVR server I am looking again at testing my SAT>IP tuner with my V5 test server after a Windows reinstall and the latest NextPVR version. The main problem is that the channel scan does not like missing or dead transponders and stops detecting channels after searching one. Using the 28.2.ini it finds 12 channels on the first transponder then nothing on the 108 other transponders in the file.

Around half the transponders are encrypted so several years ago I created a 28.2-FTA.ini with only 49 transponders that are used for Freesat/Free to Air transmissions. Scanning with this ini file it finds over 200 channels but finds no channels after 11597 MHZ V.

Missing from my ini file are the 2nd and 3rd  transponders in the 28.2.ini as they are no longer used so the scan now does not lock up after the 1st transponder. The reason the scan stopped at 11597 MHZ is because the next frequency 11611 Mhz is an another unused transponder. I have removed several more transponders from my 28.2-FTA.ini file so I am down to 44 transponders. A full channel scan with this file now seems to find the expected channels.

Enclosed is scan of first 4 frequencies at 28.2E. Transponders 2 & 3 are not used so probably either spare or faulty.Transponders 1 & 4 each have 12 channels but the scan only finds channels on transponder 1 and nothing on transponder 4 after scanning the two empty transponders.

1=10714,H,22000,56,DVB-S,QPSK
2=10729,V,22000,56,DVB-S,QPSK
3=10744,H,22000,56,DVB-S,QPSK
4=10758,V,22000,56,DVB-S,QPSK

When transponder 2 & 3 and any other empty transponders are removed from the list missing channels are found.
Enclosed are logs with scan starting 11:11:24

I got a new SAT>IP device setup yesterday, and it's exhibiting the same behaviour. I'm investigating.

My other device, the DigitalDevices Octopus, doesn't do this. It successfully finds all the channels.

Can you let me know if this updated NShared.dll fixes the problem? I'm pretty sure it will.

Forgive me for jumping onto this thread I have tried the new .dll on my Windows 10 64 bit system and found it to make no difference but as jcjefferies has said, removing the empty transponders seems to result in more channels being discovered.

Can you supply logs? That build specially tried to address that.

When you do collect the logs, this version will give me slightly more info. This dll will also work fine on Linux, which I think you were using.

Sorry Sub, my bad  I was using the old dll somehow, just run a scan with the new one and found 600+ channels. Will see if I can try it out on Ubuntu tomorrow.
