NextPVR Server Slow to Start

Hi,
     I have latest release NextPvr V5 installed and working however I have noticed that the server takes around 1 minute to start.  That is tray icon stays grey for about 1 minute before turning green, after a reboot.  The tuner is a HDHomeRun.

Version 4 didn't do this.

Any thoughts on this.

Google ... windows service delayed start ... You can change NextPVR Server to Automatic (and not Automatic (Delayed Start)) if you need a fast start.

Your logs is showing a quick start up, perhaps it is just the tray status indicator that is slow to change.

Is it actually more than cosmetic problem?

The logs appear to show it taking about 6 seconds to start and be ready for use.

It could be just that your machine is fairly busy at startup, starting other stuff etc, and hasn't got around to start NextPVR immediately. As suggested above, you could try going into Services, and changing it it's startup type from 'automatic (delayed)' to 'automatic', which will have Windows start it slightly earlier in it's startup processing

Hi Martin,
            thanks for that.  Changing the service from delayed start fixed it.  Tray icon goes green within a second now. 

Sorry but I feel like a dummy.  The logs I sent where logs from a hibernate start not a cold boot.  I didn't realize the logs were deleted at every start.  I have attached the cold boot logs if you where interested.  Can you tell me which log you are looking at to see the delayed start issue.

Sub gave you the delayed start idea. Except for the cosmetic issue note that you might not have all remote drives connected, working USB and drivers and remote networking if you don't have delayed running on a cold boot.

You could only see the startup delay in the Windows system logs after the reboot since NextPVR is not running.
