Can't import second Schedules Direct lineup...

I know I'm doing something wrong...   Sad

I'm trying to set up my secondary capture card to show/record from my cable STB.  When I go to the Devices page on the Web app, it doesn't seem to want to use my Canadian postal code.  Question - do I need to use the space and capital letters, or does it not matter?

(Since I screwed up by entering the wrong password for my Schedules Direct account, I've been temporarily locked out.  Being the lazy sot I am, I'll try again tomorrow...)

I use upper case no space. However adding a lineup shouldn't require entering the userid or password. The SD screen isn't that intuitive you have to wait for you existing lineup to show up before adding a new one.

You may have screwed thing up by auto saving you SD credentials in the browser. If you continue to have problems you might need to clear those.

I did clear all my passwords after this happened - it's possible. I also auto-saved the NPVR password - although it didn't appear in the place where the SD username and password are requested.

Well - got my Schedules Direct guides to load... the issue was probably my messed-up passwords. I also discovered (the hard way...) that the device lower on the list is actually the first one installed.

Which brings me to my next issue - after deleting the incorrect EPG data, I seem to be unable to import the *correct* channels. (My fault again - NPVR couldn't find the executable for changing channels, and didn't inform me of the error...) I'm having issues with the USBUIRTSend setup - it seems to be sluggish in sending the data to the satellite box - that may be a question of positioning.

@sub - I realize it's been a long time since you've worked on it - but would you happen to recall if there's a way to direct the code to one of the secondary outputs on the USBUIRT device? If I can send the codes to a specific emitter, I have the hardware to put an LED emitter directly above the STBs' IR receiver.

@mvailevand - Martin, would you have any idea what 'EPG Local Origination' refers to? I'm going to have to go through a list of all the channels I have listed, and figure out which channels I'm actually authorized to receive.

Getting there... Smile

For in Ottawa Rogers has a channel called "EPG Local Origination" on channel 1, it's a time and PPV movie preview channel. I use lircd for controlling two (could be 4) IR emitters and it needs the set transmitter comment to pick the correct blaster.

Okay - Rogers Toronto has a bunch of them, scattered throughout their listings. (And they *did* have my Lobby-Watch channels listed - labelled 'Security'.) As for the IR - I think I may have to remove the serial-port control cable from the DTV box first, and see what that does. The box may be looking at that first, and causing delays. Usb-uirt seems to be functioning - it's just slow. It may be that the receiver can't 'see' the transmission - because I've placed the PC in the same cabinet, and am relying on reflection to send the code. (Works for the Rogers box, after all...) My next step (once I get the channels to change correctly, that is...) is to bundle the current channels in a group, and then import the cable-box channels as a separate group.

What is your definition of slow? Even when I use the remote manually outside NextPVR I can see the digits as I hit the remote and I definitely have to zero pad to avoid the an extra delay on time out. You can see my delays in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w12tZsiOkHM I moved to Global on ATSC at one minute and that doesn't have the tuning delay.

Maybe it's my setup - I'm not seeing numbers at all. And when I use the dedicated remote, there's a (approximate...) 5-second delay between pressing the key and seeing it on the OSD. The Rogers box, on the other hand, displays almost immediately.

Maybe I'll try re-learning the keys, and try again...

Something else I'm noticing - may be something in my machine...

The longer I watch one single channel, the audio slowly becomes out of sync with the video. If I watch one channel for an hour, it becomes noticeable that speech does not match lip movement. Shutting down the Web app and restarting corrects this. (Going to test other browsers - may be an artifact with Slimjet - as well as the desktop app, now that it's been explained to me how to get to the settings...)

I assume you mean in USBUIRTSend? No. There is no parameter that says 'use emitter 2' or anything like that.

I seem to remember asking the USBUIRT guy about 12-15 years ago whether this was possible. From my hazy memory of it, I think he indicated it was possible, by changing the code stored in the file, but it never went any further than that.
