Pause/Resume strange behavior Kodi 18.6 Leia

Hello,

I have noticed some strange behavior during timeshift with Kodi 8.6 Leia on Windows and NextPVR V5 latest build.

If I pause a channel and after some time I resume it, it resumes normally, but after few seconds it goes back and resumes again from where it was originally paused and from there on it plays fine.

I am attaching kodi debug log and nextpvr server logs.

My configuration of nextpvr plugin is as per the attached screenshot.

Yes this can be an issue, because I can't guarantee that there will be enough data to just continue playing so the file is closed and then a seek occurs. Any data in the Kodi buffer will playout before the seek happens which cause a small loop. It probably became worse when I had to make the last change to leave the file open as NextPVR fully loads all network buffers during a pause.

I will look at enhancing this for Matrix and only seek when there is a requirement to seek.

Please note that I have setup at Nextpvr settings 180 minutes buffer, so that I am able to resume even after a lot of time.,.

Yes thanks I saw that in the logs and noted the pause time is not as much of an problem for you as it would be by default but that doesn't change the issue.

Exactly the same thing is happening to me too. ( Kodi 8.6 Leia on Win 10 and NextPVR V5 latest build )

Pause is messed up and skips back.

Thanks for then post but note that simply posting that you have the same problem isn't that helpful without logs. We have often found that when people think a problem is the same it turns out to be different.

I had a feeling I might get told off for not up-loading my log files, sorry my bad.

Thanks it isn't really a question of being told off, there is not much I can check without logs so I don't like to see users wasting time. Logs from multiple users give me different things to look at.

In this case your logs really help since it is clear what I need to change, I might be able to get it in Leia

@Data and @aderlopas could you try the pre-release of 3.3.20 and let me know if it is an improvement

Martin, it's looking good 

I uninstalled 3.3.19 first then installed the pre-release, set it to timeshift and all looks good, tested pause a few times and it seems perfect so far. 

Will post back if I encounter any problems.
